WHAT HAPPENED?
It was revealed towards the end of 2024 that the ex-England international would be taking on a new challenge in Italy. He had continued to work with Everton after becoming a free agent, but saw injury struggles prevent him from staking a serious claim to fresh terms with the Toffees.

Dele has now stepped out of his comfort zone to join former Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas at Como, with the World Cup winner filling his first managerial role with Serie A newcomers. Dele began training in new surroundings on Boxing Day.

The 28-year-old was initially put on an individual programme, as he remains a long way short of full fitness, but has joined the rest of Como’s squad for a mid-season warm weather camp in Marbella. He has been pictured there alongside former Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno and ex-Barcelona stalwart Sergi Roberto.
